Prince George’s County Police said they are investigating why it took nearly 30 minutes for the police to reach Kezia Williams’ home when trying to break in.

"As a woman living alone, this is devastating. I hope to be able to rely on the police to protect me and help me deal with what happens when a crime does happen," Williams said.

William's ring doorbell camera shows that the entire incident occurred on Tuesday, October 26. As she was told that she could not submit a police report, she posted the video on Instagram and recounted the tragic moments of virality that followed on Twitter.

Williams first told the suspect "Have a nice day" because she picked up her dog and rushed in. Then she saw the man in the Lakers hoodie following her.

He went up the steps and tried to open the door. Once, he even put his thumb on the camera to hide what he was trying to do.

Nearly 72 hours later, police in Prince George’s County did charge the potential intruder with trespass, but did not lock him up.

When FOX 5 asked them why they said it was because trespass was a criminal citation, the accused person was not in jail, but was expected to appear on their court date.

According to the case search, the suspect has a long history of crime, including burglary, theft and dangerous weapons allegations, some of which are still pending.

For this special incident, the suspect also received a criminal summons for attempted burglary at level 4.

Williams would like to thank the Maryland prosecutor for everything he has done so far, but would like to escalate the charges made by the Maryland Commissioner in order to put the suspect in jail.

However, according to an official who works closely with the judicial system, arrest is unlikely in this case.

Williams said: "He has recently had open and active cases, just like this year, so this kind of person shouldn't be on the street."

At the same time, Williams wants to remind people to pay attention to their surroundings. She didn't want anyone to experience everything she experienced.

"Make sure your house is safe. I am grateful that I have a security system. Since then I have bought pepper spray and taser, and I have taken extra measures to protect myself," Williams said. "Anything can happen to me, I am grateful to be alive."
