A feeling of cleanliness. Fans of Mrs. Hinch have created their own social media groups dedicated to sharing cleaning and tidying skills. Mrs. Hinch’s full name is Sophie Hinchliffe, and she became famous after she started sharing her unique cleaning skills on social media and TV. She now has more than 4.2 million followers on Instagram and her own household items collection.

In one such social media group, a fan of Mrs. Hinch asked how to prevent condensation on windows.

Sophie Randell posted: "Please help!! Just moved into the rented house, and the windows freeze like this every day.

"I have tried the small [dehumidifier] basin shown in the picture to help, but its effect is zero.

"Any suggestions on how to stop this would be a wise move! After a few days it will even leak water onto the window seals because of how much condensation there is."

Sophie's posts are full of comments and suggestions, but the most popular response is to use salt.

Marilyn Earp said: "Put the salt in the bowl on the window sill. It will draw moisture in."

Suze Josh Eleanor-Lewis replied: "Put a jar or two of salt on the windowsill.

"It absorbs moisture. Just put a fresh pot/bowl every night."

Heather Knight agreed and said, "I also recommend this."

Amy Crolla said: "People here recommend using window cleaners, but no one pays for it, especially when Christmas is approaching.

"This is a cheaper method. Take a large plastic bucket and put cat litter, salt or even sugar in it-anything that can absorb moisture, and make a dehumidifier.

"We also need to wipe off the water from the windows. Micro cloths are great. They can absorb a lot of water.

"Sell them at your local £1 store or B&M for a pack of five for £1. Hope this helps."

The price of Morrisons table salt is only 29 pence, while the price of Waitrose's 1.5 kg of basic cooking salt is 95 pence.

Suggestions from other fans of Mrs. Hinch include using window scrapers, using mounting kits, or installing air chimneys.

Hannah Francis wrote: "We have this on the windows and we haven't changed. I use a window cleaner every day.

"But if money is tight, ordinary window squeegees (B&M about £1.50) and towels are just as good.

"I find that wiping the windows with white vinegar once a week also reduces condensation.

"Try to open the windows in the morning (once the curtains open).

"This shows that your house is nice and warm, but the window units may be very old and not so energy efficient.

"Our new windows don't do this at all, and my heating bill has been cut in half because the house is also very warm."

Louise Coffey said: "Try Amazon's window insulation kit.

"We rented it. We just did this to our house. All this stopped and it made the house warmer.

"It just uses double-sided tape, so it should be easy to remove when you move out."

Amanda Burley suggested: "Install an air chimney. Find them online.

"They are easy to suit you, or any moisture-proof company will provide you and suit you."
