• I would like to thank a lady at Perkins restaurant — on Wednesday evening, I believe — that paid our bill. She noticed my husband had his Vietnam cap on, and she thanked him for his service, and then she said, “Let me pay your bill.” So I just want to thank her. She’s a very nice lady, a lot younger than we are. So thank you very much for him. I’ll pass it along.

• I’d like to give a shout out to Amy Payan, a resource specialist (with) Senior Services down down at the Longmont Senior Center. She has helped save me thousands of dollars in internet bills, city bills, new refrigerator, new insulation, new weather stripping, furnace tuneup and many other things. It’s out there if you go looking for it, folks. I didn’t realize that, but there are many government programs that were there or that are now coming on board with President Biden. Now have yourself a good day, and thank you, Amy.

Definitely research Denmark COVID vaccination policy. The nuts out there are trying to make it sound like Denmark is not vaccinating anymore out of distrust of the vaccine. Nothing could be further from the truth. Denmark’s stopped vaccinations because 82% of the population is vaccinated, and people can still ask to be vaccinated if they want to. Like Casey Stengel said, you can look it up.

Once again, the single-minded county commissars have brought lawsuits down on us with their probably unconstitutional gun ban and racially motivated Office of Racial Equity oxymoron. Isn’t it time for the rest of us in Boulder County to have a common sense voice in our government?

Yes, Charles Carroll — the richest owner at the time of about 300 slaves, a Catholic and signatory of the Declaration of Independence — makes the claim that those “who are decrying the Christian religion are undermining the solid foundation of morals.” But what morality can we actually learn from a belief system that relegates billions and counting of humans to an eternity of torture?

If gunfire breaks out at my grandkids’ school, I expect the SRO to run towards the gunfire, not towards the safe.

It seems to me that our city leaders have forgotten that Main Street is a cross-country highway. Filling parking places with places to eat makes no sense whatsoever. The traffic (includes) large buses, 80,000 pound trucks and hundreds of cars passing through stirring up dust with exhaust fumes. … Also, we need those flashing crosswalk lights at the midblock crosswalks. It is difficult to see people waiting to cross, and I’ve seen some people nearly hit. Is it going to take someone to be seriously injured or killed before this is done?
