Jerry World plays host to an NFC East rivalry game on Sunday, as the Washington Commanders come to town to play the Cowboys.

Washington will look to get back in the win column after getting blown out by the Philadelphia Eagles last week. Meanwhile, Dallas appears to be weathering the storm in the absence of Dak Prescott. The Cowboys are coming off a road in over the Giants on Monday night.

This one kickoffs at from AT&T Stadium at 1pm ET on Fox. Peruse all the odds and picks for Washington vs Dallas below.

Odds as of September 30th at BetMGM

Backing Cooper Rush as a favorite is not for the feint of heart. However, the Cowboys backup has never lost a game with Rush as the starter.

More importantly, he’s also undefeated against the spread so far in his career. The betting public appears to share the same reservations, as currently 88% of spread bets are backing the Commanders.

Washington has a case of the Carson Wentz’s. Wentz has proven to be wildly inconsistent throughout his career and that is once again the case in 2022. The Commanders looked atrocious last week in a debilitating home loss to Philadelphia.

While Wentz did avoid throwing an interception, he was average at best. Wentz threw for just 211 yards on 43 attempts and was sacked 9 times by an unrelenting Philadelphia Eagles pass-rush. Dan Quinn and the Cowboys defensive line will be salivating after watching last week’s game tape.

In what should be a close game into the 4th quarter, trusting Wentz and the Commanders to pull through is foolish. The former North Dakota State pivot has proven time and time again that he is always ready to provide a game-changing turnover to his opponent.

Additionally, Washington may struggle to move the football against an aggressive Cowboys defense that thrives on creating turnover-worthy plays. The Commanders offensive line will have their hands full with Micah Parsons in this one.

Moreover, Washington’s defense ranks 28th in both points and passing yards allowed. While coming in at 27th in total defense. Betting on Wentz and this defensive unit to stay within 3 points of a surging Dallas Cowboys team seems like a recipe for disaster.

Cooper Rush may have started a quarterback controversy in Dallas. All Jerry Jones quips and jokes aside, the Cowboys have managed to keep their heads above water since Dak Prescott’s injury.

The Cowboys seem to have found an offensive spark with Cooper Rush at the helm, led by the ascent of Tony Pollard and Noah Brown. Suddenly, Kellen Moore’s offense has become extremely versatile.

No longer do the Cowboys need to sit back and pass 50 times a game as they did to begin 2021. With Ezekiel Elliot, CeeDee Lamb, and Dalton Schultz also healthy and producing this Cowboys offense should have no trouble putting up points against an atrocious Commanders defense.

Besides, since 2018 Dallas has been dominant versus the NFC East. The Cowboys are an astounding 18-7 against the spread since that season. Additionally, Dallas is 19-6 straight up over that same time, with the over hitting in 15 of 25 games.

Furthermore, the Cowboys are a staggering 10-2 against the spread, and 11-1 straight up over that same time frame when playing a divisional opponent at home.

The turnover battle will loom large in this one. Dallas is currently +6 in the turnover category, good for second in the league. The Commanders have generated just one takeaway so far this season.

Dallas’ ability to take advantage of Carson Wentz mistakes will determine the outcome here. The Cowboys legitimately may have more talent at every position other than wide receiver and quarterback.

Even then, it’s fair to wonder how much better Carson Wentz really is than Cooper Rush at this point in their careers.

The Cowboys’ defensive line should have a field day in this one. All the trends favor Jerry Jones’ team. Take the Cowboys to stay hot.
