Montclair, NJ – The Montclair Environmental Commission, Mayor, and Township Council invite low-income residents to participate in the New Jersey Comfort Partners Program. This is a FREE program that helps Montclair households to save energy and save money on utility bills while increasing the comfort, safety and efficiency of their homes through things like sealing cold air drafts and gas leaks, replacing inefficient boilers, light bulbs, refrigerators and thermostats, and more. All eligible fixes are at no cost.

Households at or below 250% of the federal poverty guidelines are eligible. The program is open to home renters and owners.

New Jersey Comfort Partners is a FREE program that helps income- eligible Montclair residents to save energy and save money on utility bills, while increasing safety and comfort in their homes.

Recent local home energy fixes* included:

Home air draft sealing: window caulking, door weather stripping, insulation Replacement of inefficient, refrigeration, thermostats Gas leaks fixed Efficient lighting products Energy-saving shower heads, aerators Replacement of inefficient refrigerators and thermostats Heating and cooling equipment maintenance Personalized energy counseling Who is eligible to participate?

To participate in New Jersey Comfort Partners, you must live in New Jersey, be the rate payer of record with a participating utility, be at or below 250% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines or participate in one of the Federal/ Safety Net Partnership programs below:

Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) Lifeline Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled (PAAD) Section 8 Housing Federal Supplemental Security Income (SSI) Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) Universal Service Fund (USF) Medicaid Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) General Assistance (GA) Comfort Partners has the right to verify income. Homes that are 0 to 5 years old or under builder’s warranty are excluded.
